About Katie Kilback, RCC
Hi, I’m Katie Kilback (she/her), a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP). I offer individual counselling for adults and youth (14+), both in-person in South Surrey and online across British Columbia and in unregulated provinces and territories across Canada.
My goal is to create a space where you can feel safe, heard, understood and accepted just as you are.
The Importance of Conection
I believe that one of the most important parts of therapy is the relationship between you and the counsellor. Research consistently shows that the strength of this connection has a significant impact on healing and growth.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore whether we’re a good fit — because meaningful change in therapy happens when you feel comfortable and understood.
My role is to walk alongside you with care, curiosity, and openness, meeting you exactly where you are.
My Approach
I offer individual counselling that is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect. Sessions are guided by your pace, your priorities, and your lived experience.
I bring a gentle, nonjudgemental presence to the work and often check in to make sure our time together feels helpful and relevant.
My role is to support you in moving toward greater connection—to yourself, others, and what matters most.
I integrate evidence-informed practices tailored to your needs, including:
Trauma-informed care
Emotion-focused and relational approaches
Strengths-based and person-centred therapy
Areas of Focus
I work with individual adults and youth (14+) navigating:
Anxiety & panic
Depression
Trauma & PTSD
Grief & Loss
Self-harm & suicidality
Life transitions
Prenatal & postpartum
Ageing
Women in abusive relationships
2SLGBTQIA+ identity & affirmation
Stress, burnout, & overwhelm
Whether you’re seeking in-person counselling in South Surrey or online therapy across BC, my goal is to offer a supportive and compassionate space where you can work through life’s challenges.

A Bit About Me
I’ve always been drawn to supporting others—it’s been a constant thread in both my personal life and professional path. My own experience in counselling have deeply shaped the way I show up as a therapist: with empathy, openness, and the belief that change is possible, even in the hardest seasons.
I’m continually inspired by the courage, honesty, and strength of my clients. Whether you’re seeking healing, clarity, or simply a place to be heard, I consider it a privilege to sit with you.
Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time with my husband and son, enjoying a good show or music with loved ones, or curled up at home with our two cats. I also love travelling and learning from different cultures and perspectives.
